About Identity Protection

My name is Alfred Kipler, and I was a victim of identity theft.

As a husband and the father of two children, becoming the victims of identity theft was perhaps the most terrifying experience my family has endured.  It caused immeasurable amounts of embarrassment, stress, and rage that someone could so easily steal my identity and use it to for his own gain – at my family’s expense.  To date, the criminal is still at large, and although I eventually recovered the things he had stolen, and over time managed to repair my credit, it was an ordeal I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

After the smoke had settled, I found that the stress would not subside.  Sure, we figured out who had committed the crime (he’s currently in hiding), how he did it, and we had begun the process of restoring our finances and our our credit, but if had happened once, what would stop it from happening again?  My life was getting back on track, but my peace of mind was still in shambles.

So I began a complete inventory of every hole in my financial security.  I researched everything that could possibly be done to ensure that no one would ever again get access to my sensitive, personal information – information that could again be used to take out credit cards in my name, among the many other ways havoc can be wreaked on a person’s finances.  I asked around, I searched, and I bought numerous books on the subject of identity protection.  I found there were gaps in my personal data security that I never would have even thought about, and I discovered surprisingly simple and inexpensive ways to cover my tracks and keep my data out of the wrong hands – and to be notified of identity theft before the damage would become too severe.

Now, my peace of mind is restored, knowing that I’ve taken every measure possible to secure my personal information.  Identity theft is no longer a fear of mine.

That’s why I created this site.  It still angers me that identity thieves are active every day, stealing from families who have worked hard for what they have – and many of them are getting away with it.  I want to put these criminals out of business by making it too difficult for them to attain the information they need to steal people’s identities.  I want to teach you, my readers, to protect your own identities so that you will never be taken by one of these low lifes.
